This soil and mulch calculator is easy to use. Choose the measurement you would like to use (inches or feet), follow the instruction on the face of the calculator and remember to clear the calculator before entering new values. The calculated amount will show the number of cubic yards of material you require for your landscape or gardening project.

Landscape architects generally recommend 6 inches of compacted lawn soil for new lawns. Most home owners tend to use 4 inches of soil. We encourage them to use 4 inches compacted. Lawn soil will compact by approximately 10% and garden soils by approximately 15%. Please consider this when ordering your lawn and garden soil.
